About Our Founder and CEO Lex

I was born in Paris and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. I came to the United States for college (San Diego State University) and graduated from University with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. I moved to Los Angeles in 1991 and was a stockbroker and financial advisor in LA until March of 2000 (Nasdaq Market Crash). The stock market crash of 2000 had a lasting impact on me and my family, and I vowed to never place my future and my family’s well being in the hands of something as random as the stock market . I read the book “Rich Dad Poor Dad” in 2000, which is how the the seeds of investing in real estate were first planted in my head. I made the decision to become a real estate investor and to learn how to buy rental properties. I am the epitome of the American Dream. I am an immigrant that believes that if you work hard anything is possible.

That same year that I read Rich Dad Poor Dad, I saw an infomercial on TV about buying real estate. I spent almost 3 years attending seminars, and learning about investing in real estate before I started investing in real estate. I decide to quit being a financial advisor and to become a full time real estate investor. I made the decision to leave California and move with My Family to Boca Raton Florida in 2003, because real estate was much more affordable in Florida, and the demographics were so positive for Florida (so many people moving to Florida). I love living in Florida – and that decision to move to Florida worked out really great for me and my family!

When I moved to Florida, my two oldest boys Michael and Jacob were just 1 and 4 years old. Now they are 21 and 24 and Dylan is now 9 (see pic to the left). I spent the first two years in Florida working with a home buying company that specializes in buying houses, repairing them and renting them to tenants. 

Since then, my companies have purchased over 1,000 single family homes from sellers that wanted to sell their house fast for cash. In 2008 (during the financial crisis) I began teaching new real estate investors how to get started investing in real estate. Many of my students are now full time real estate investors.

I love the ocean which is why I love Florida. I am an avid sailor and like to spend as much time as possible sailing my Catamaran on the ocean. In fact, I have spoken to some sellers from the middle of the ocean! I take every summer off and spends 6 weeks sailing through the Bahamas with my family and friends. I spend every winter in the Florida Keys on my catamaran and I love to fish, scuba dive and snorkel. I love real estate because it allows me to spend more time with my family and my boys. I love teaching others how to invest in real estate too. I have called Boca Raton, Florida home since 2003 and I love living here. I always tell people, “We live where other people take a vacation”.
